In keeping with a tradition that started in 1946, CEO Patrick J. Studdert planned to have his fleet's newest towboat, M/V SAN KENNEDY, blessed at the Port of Houston. This was a very special blessing by His Eminence Daniel Nicholas Cardinal DiNardo, the new Archbishop of Galveston-Houston. On the banks of the original Buffalo Bayou, the 1200 horsepower tug was blessed by the Cardinal and christened by its namesake, Studdert's granddaughter, five-year-old Kennedy Reese Studdert. Shirleybarr PR garnered a proclamation from the City of Houston for the event and a cover page and photos in City & State, HOUSTON CHRONICLE. FOX TV News followed Studdert during one of his weekly changing of the crews' pep talks about safety and HOUSTON BUSINESS JOURNAL interviewed him for a Face to Face profile.
